A message from Gabe...

When clients sign a contract, they are asking for a 100% guarantee that my musicians will be available. However, a 50% deposit payment only guarantees half the revenue.

The problem for me is that Gabe Lucas Piano Productions is not an agency or large production company that gets dozens of inquiries for the same date. In other words, if an event cancels, but I've only colleced a 50% deposit, then I have no recourse but to pay out of pocket the money I'm obligated to pay the musicians with whom I've contracted.

• Agencies that book numerous events on the same date can reassign previously contracted musicians elsewhere.
• Caterers and florists simply don't order the food or flowers that they would have needed.
• Gabe Lucas Piano Productions, however, would have to pay its contracted musicians their full salary, because I would have guaranteed them work and would have no other job for them to do.

While event cancellations are rare, I can personally attest that they do happen. My policies have actually helped me to build an exceptional good will with the musician community, which in turn enjoys working for me because they know I will always honor my agreements with them. As a result, I am able to recruit the highest caliber of musicians to work with me.
